My Mother Dolores

My mother was a very spiritual and powerful woman. She overcame many of the challenges that faced women of her time, I consider her one of the first feminist as she did not bow to the cultural norms that were attempted to be placed upon her.

She had a different vision for her life. In fact, she once told me that it came to her in a vision, the
vision said to her that her that she would never be happy and that her life would never change unless she got out of her hometown.

Because she had the courage to follow her intuition she made a decision and changed her life into a completely different trajectory, than where it started from. She taught by example and would always tell us and anyone she talked to “If something in your life is not the way you want it, and is not honoring who you are, then it is up to you to change it.

Sitting and complaining about how your life, is not an option. She once said to me during my rebellious youth while I was laying in bed injured because of a bad decision that I had made. She said to me you can either lie there and feel sorry for yourself, or you could start doing something about it. It was then that she handed me my first book on mindset.

It was a book called The power of positive thinking by Norman Vincent Peele. I was 19 years old. She helped me
change my life and together we supported each other and took on the challenges that life will certainly provide you.

She often gave sage advice. For example, when someone shows you or tells you who they are. Believe them! One of the things I remember most that she used to say to me is “It’s not just what you get in this life, it’s who you become along the way and who you elevate with you.

This is what a meaningful life is and I chose to follow those words of wisdom from my very powerful Spiritually conscious
mother. I am forever grateful!
